A Welcome Message

From The District Grand Master

Hello,
My name is Farouk Khan and I am the District Grand Master of the Mark Master Masons of  New Zealand.
Whatever your reason for visiting our website we want it to be interesting and informative and will always try to improve on what you find here.
Mark Masonry is open to all men who are already Craft Freemasons. If you are not yet already a Freemason and are keen to join us we can easily guide you through that process.
Alternatively you may just wish to know more about us and we are happy to share our experiences and provide examples of the social functions we organise and our charitable giving.
The District Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of New Zealand is the governing body of all our Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Lodges within New Zealand. We are part of the oldest non-religious fraternal societies.
Our origins are based on the ancient operative stonemason who indented the stones they made with their personal mark. There are three degrees in Craft Freemasonry and the Mark Degree is an important development of the second of those three degrees, not practised in English Craft Freemasonry but still is in Scottish Freemasonry and other Constitutions around the world. You can become a Master of a Lodge of Mark Master Masons before you have reached that position in your Craft Lodge.
Here you will discover we have currently 10 Mark Lodges and 7 Royal Ark Mariner Lodges with the history of both these Orders and how they are operated today.
As a Craft Freemason consider the Mark Master Mason’s Degree as a necessary step on your journey for improving your self-knowledge.
If you wish to join us or require any further information that you cannot find here then please contact the District Grand Secretary who will provide the answer(s) you seek or complete and submit the online form.
I and the members of the District Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of New Zealand look forward to meeting you personally.
Sincerely and fraternally yours
Farouk Khan
